Another wonderful video for a song by Roman Ruins, this time Land O’ Goshen takes on “Wildflower” using a brilliant repurposing of an old film.  If you didn’t previously catch his take on “The Comedown” from last year’s 7”, then do yourself a favor and check it out as well.

“Wildflower” is off the forthcoming debut LP by Roman Ruins (Graham Hill) titled Homebuilding.  Hill is an architect and landscape designer, with a thirst for methodical and process-oriented craft. Since 2008, Hill has played drums on tour with Beach House and Papercuts, and contributed to the recording of the former’s critically lauded album, Teen Dream. The music on Homebuilding creates a sense of home, lyrically exploring the range of bonds that hold families together. Hill began constructing these songs while on tour in Europe in early 2010, daydreaming in the van about his pregnant wife at home. Following the birth of their son that summer, it became clear that Hill was ushering in a family of songs about the process of growing a home, both architecturally and spiritually.

The 12” can be pre-ordered now, it is limited to 250 copies on translucent milky white vinyl.  It comes out on February 28th, and all pre-orders will receive MP3s of the full album before the release date as well as a special 7” surprise.
